Medial Elbow Epicondylitis 內側上髁炎

Medial elbow epicondylitis, or golfer’s elbow, is overuse of the tendons that bend the wrist and fingers, causing pain on the inner side of the elbow. It often appears in racket sports, throwing sports, or repetitive manual work. Physiotherapy focuses on reducing pain, improving tendon load tolerance, and correcting technique or work habits.

內側上髁炎(高爾夫球肘)係前臂屈腕屈指嘅筋腱長期過度使用,令手肘內側疼痛,多見於打球、投擲運動或者重複手作工作人士。物理治療會透過手法治療、伸展同漸進式肌力訓練去減痛,並協助你調整動作模式同工作習慣。

內側上髁炎,俗稱「高爾夫球肘」,係前臂屈腕同旋前肌嘅肌腱喺手肘內側附著點反覆受拉扯,引起微細撕裂同發炎。

常見原因
– 揮桿、投擲、打球等重複用力動作
– 長時間用滑鼠、打字或扭緊工具
– 健身時過度做屈臂、抓握動作
– 突然增加運動量或工作量

症狀
– 手肘內側疼痛或灼熱感,按壓特別痛
– 屈腕、握拳、拿重物時加劇
– 有時痛楚放射到前臂
– 抓握力度下降,覺得「冇力」

物理治療重點

急性期:減少拉扯、控制發炎
• 避免高負荷抓握同扭轉動作,必要時使用護托。
• 以儀器、冰敷同手法放鬆前臂肌肉。

恢復期:重建肌腱耐力、調整動作
• 以漸進式離心及阻力訓練強化屈腕肌群。
• 檢查揮桿/投擲/工作技術,配合姿勢及器材調整,減低手肘壓力,預防復發。

Medial elbow epicondylitis, or golfer’s elbow, is overuse of the wrist-flexor and pronator tendons where they attach to the inner side of the elbow, leading to micro-tears and inflammation.

Common causes
– Repetitive swinging, throwing, or racquet sports
– Prolonged gripping with tools, mouse, or keyboard
– Heavy gym work involving wrist flexion and gripping
– Sudden increase in training or workload

Symptoms
– Pain or burning at the inner elbow, tender to touch
– Pain worsens with gripping, wrist flexion, or lifting objects
– Sometimes radiating discomfort into the forearm
– Reduced grip strength and feeling of weakness

Physiotherapy focus

Acute phase – unload and calm the tendon
• Activity modification to reduce heavy gripping and twisting; temporary bracing if needed.
• Modalities, ice, and manual therapy to ease pain and relax forearm muscles.

Recovery phase – rebuild tendon capacity and technique
• Gradual eccentric and resistance exercises to strengthen the wrist-flexor group.
• Technique review for sport and work tasks, with posture and equipment adjustments to decrease elbow stress and prevent recurrence.
